Aalto University campus in Otaniemi is located in Espoo, about 10 kilometers from the centre of Helsinki. The registration will take place at the School of Business (Ekonominaukio 1, 02150 Espoo).

How to get there?

Metro (station: Aalto-yliopisto, Aalto University)
From the city center you can come to the campus by metro. Aalto University metro station is 11 minutes from Railway station (city center Helsinki). There are two exits from the Aalto University metro station. You can use either one of them and follow the sings that will take you to the School of Business.

By bus and light rail
Otaniemi is easily accessible by bus and light rail line 15. The light rail runs every 6 minutes on weekdays, stop at Aalto University metro station.

By city bikes
You can also rent a city bike. There are nearly 4,600 bikes and 460 stations in Helsinki and Espoo (including University Campus in Otaniemi). It takes around 30 minutes to cycle from city center to Otaniemi. For more information see https://www.hsl.fi/en/citybikes/helsinki

Public transportation tickets

Single tickets for the metro, light rail, or bus can be purchased using contactless payment: simply select the correct zones and tap your debit or credit card on the reader. The ticket will be stored on your card, allowing you to board directly. Tickets can also be bought in advance from ticket machines or via the HSL mobile app.

  • The same ticket is valid for 80 minutes across buses, light rail, trams, and the metro.

  • All conference venues, including the suggested hotels, are located within Zone AB.

Airport connection

To Otaniemi (Aalto University campus)

  • Distance from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport: approximately 22 km

  • Taxi fare: around €55; travel time about 30 minutes. Uber and Bolt may offer more affordable options.

  • Public transport: approximately 1 hour. Options include:

    • Train or bus to Helsinki Central Railway Station, then metro to Aalto University station

    • Train to Huopalahti station, then transfer to light rail line 15

  • A Zone ABC ticket is required (current price: €4.40)

To Helsinki City Centre

  • Distance from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport: approximately 19 km

  • Taxi fare: around €35; travel time about 30 minutes. Uber and Bolt may offer more affordable options.

  • Public transport: approximately 40 minutes by direct train to Helsinki Central Railway Station
